Borviy

The winter wheat variety Borvіy is the result of Ukrainian breeding and is intended for cultivation in dry steppe regions, including the North Caucasus region and the Republic of Crimea. It belongs to the medium-early maturing varieties with a ripening period of about 270 days and medium-high winter hardiness, rated at 8.8 points. The plants are semi-dwarf, about 75-85 cm tall, which contributes to resistance against lodging and shattering.

Borvіy is distinguished by high yield, averaging 6.7 t/ha and up to 9 t/ha at a seeding rate of 4.5-5.5 million germinating seeds per hectare. The variety is resistant to many diseases and stress factors, including drought and heat, making it especially valuable for cultivation in extremely dry conditions. The 1000-grain weight varies from 37 to 41 g.

The quality of the grain and baking properties of the Borvіy variety are at a high level: protein content is 13-14.3%, raw gluten — about 27.5-29.7%, flour strength reaches 429 units, and the volume of bread made from 100 g of flour — 1115 ml. These indicators make Borvіy a strong wheat variety with excellent milling and baking characteristics, allowing it to be used as a good flour quality improver.
