Chiron

Wheat variety Chiron is a high-yielding winter type with high cold and drought resistance. This compensatory type variety can compensate for productivity traits during the vegetation period, ensuring stable yields. Chiron is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and shattering of grains in the ear, which helps maintain the quality and quantity of the harvest.

The variety exhibits good resistance to major wheat diseases, including powdery mildew, rust, Fusarium head blight, as well as leaf diseases, cercosporiosis, yellow spot, and septoria. Thanks to this, Chiron is suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions and ensures stable yields even under adverse weather conditions.

Chiron is recommended for sowing after maize with a seeding rate of 3.5–4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. The potential yield of the variety is 112–118 c/ha. Protein content in the grain ranges from 13.5–13.8 %, gluten content — 27.2–27.9 %, ensuring high grain quality. Falling number varies from high to very high, and crude protein content is at a medium level, making this variety attractive for producing high-quality flour.
