Description
Wheat variety Dальницька is a medium-early variety recommended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. This variety belongs to the lutescens group and is characterized by a vegetation period lasting 289-294 days. Plants have an intermediate bush form with height ranging from 87 to 96 cm, light-green broad leaves without hairs and with moderate waxy coating. The ear is white, cylindrical or spindle-shaped, with medium-sized red kernels. The variety exhibits medium to above-average winter hardiness, as well as resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew, rust, and Fusarium ear rot. The average yield of variety Dальницька is 72.8 c/ha. It features excellent baking and milling qualities, making it popular for producing food wheat. Meanwhile, there is also a forage wheat variety called Дальник, which is primarily used in compound feed production due to its high protein, B and E vitamin, lysine, and phosphorus content. However, forage wheat is not intended for human consumption and is used in animal husbandry. Studies conducted in the northeastern forest-steppe region of Ukraine showed that variety Dальницька possesses unique genetic potential for productivity and quality, as well as specific responses to sowing dates. This enables optimization of agronomic practices to achieve maximum yield and grain quality under various regional climatic conditions.
