DON 95

DON 95 is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), characterized by an early-mid maturity period and a medium-height plant type. It exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring yield stability. The weight of 1000 grains ranges from 37.7 to 39 g, and the plant has a short stem with a beardless spike type. The vegetative period ranges from 233 to 286 days, allowing the variety to successfully adapt to the conditions of the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions. Plant height is in the range of 63–92 cm, which facilitates harvesting and reduces yield losses.

The variety demonstrates high winter hardiness, exceeding average levels, as well as high drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for regions with variable climatic conditions. DON 95 is resistant to brown and yellow rust, but is susceptible to bunt, powdery mildew, and septoria. Despite this, infection by these diseases in field conditions was minimal. The yield of the DON 95 variety is stable and high: average indicators reach 39.9–40.8 ц/га in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions, with maximum values up to 54.7 ц/га. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various zones of the Rostov region, including the North-West and North-East, where it shows an increase in yield compared to other standards.
