Description
Farmerka wheat is a winter crop distinguished by high resistance to various diseases and stress factors. The plant stem is covered with a moderate waxy coating, and the cylindrical ear is 8-9 cm long with medium density. The awns are long, about 10 cm, serrated, and after dehiscence acquire anthocyanic coloring. The glumes are lanceolate in shape with weakly expressed venation, the teeth are long and slightly curved, the shoulder is narrow and elevated. The grain is red, medium-sized, oval in shape with a wide, hairy awn. The Farmerka variety has high resistance to lodging and shattering (8 points), as well as to root rots, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew (7 points). Thanks to these characteristics, wheat withstands adverse conditions and maintains yield. The seeding rate is 4.5 million viable seeds per hectare when grown after a fallow, and 5 million when grown after non-fallow predecessors. Farmerka is suitable for cultivation after various predecessors, including black fallow, occupied fallow, perennial grasses, and corn for silage. Maximum yield is achieved using intensive cultivation technology and optimal doses of mineral fertilizers. To protect plants from diseases and pests, it is recommended to treat seeds before sowing with a fungicide mixed with an insecticide. Sowing dates correspond to the general guidelines for the cultivation zone.
