Description
Grechanka is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), represented in two forms: grekum and erythrospermum. This variety is characterized by a medium-early or medium-late vegetative period, ranging from 76 to 88 days depending on the growing region. The plants are medium-height, with erect bushes and white grain. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 33 to 39 grams, indicating good seed quality. The ear of the grekum variety is pyramidal of medium density with short awns, while for erythrospermum it is cylindrical, of medium density, with a long and slightly curved beak. The straw of grekum is fully wax-coated, while for erythrospermum it is weakly wax-coated and sparsely hairy. The Grechanka variety is characterized by high drought tolerance and disease resistance. In particular, it is resistant to brown rust and moderately resistant to solid head smut, although it is susceptible to powdery head smut. In the Lower Volga and Far East regions, the variety shows high yield: average yield reaches 13.1 c/ha in the Lower Volga region and 19 c/ha in the Primorsky Krai, exceeding the indicators of standard varieties. The maximum yield was recorded at the level of 29.7 c/ha in the Republic of Kalmykia and 38 c/ha in the Khabarovsk Krai. In terms of lodging resistance, the variety is at the level of standard varieties or higher. Grechanka has good baking qualities, making it valuable for flour and bakery production. Due to its characteristics, the variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including Volgograd and Saratov regions, as well as the Primorsky Krai. Its high adaptability to arid conditions and resistance to a number of diseases ensure a stable yield and grain quality. This makes Grechanka an attractive choice for agricultural producers seeking a reliable and productive wheat variety.
