Khmelnyts'ianka is a winter wheat variety of medium maturity and high-yielding type, belonging to the lutescens group. The variety is characterized by a glabrous spike type and high resistance to lodging, rated at 8 points. It also exhibits above-average winter hardiness and drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions. The yield potential of this variety ranges from 6 to 13 tons per hectare, indicating its high productivity.
The Khmelnyts'ianka variety shows resistance to major diseases and pests, including root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew, with resistance ratings ranging from 7 to 8 points. Additionally, it is resistant to shattering and seed germination in the ear, which contributes to maintaining grain quality. The recommended seeding rate is 4.5–5.5 million viable seeds per hectare, with the optimal sowing period being the latter half of the recommended window.
The variety is produced by the domestic Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine, ensuring high-quality seed material. The packaging for storage and transport is 50 kg.
