ITALMAS

Italmas is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) created through intraspecific hybridization of the Zarya and Imeni Rapoport varieties. This mid-season variety is characterized by enhanced winter hardiness and drought resistance, making it particularly suitable for cultivation in the Sverdlovsk region and the Volga-Vyatka region. The plant is tall with an intermediate bush type, has a pyramid-shaped ear that is loose and of medium density, white in color, and long. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 36 to 44 grams, which contributes to the formation of a high-quality crop with an average yield of about 30.4 centners per hectare.

The Italmas variety is distinguished by high resistance to major diseases, including weak susceptibility to snow mold, sclerotinia, and brown rust, which significantly reduces crop losses and increases its stability. Moreover, the plant is not prone to lodging, which facilitates harvesting and reduces the risk of grain damage. Grain quality corresponds to the third class according to GOST 9353-2016, and baking properties are at a good filler level, making this variety in demand for the production of bakery products.

Italmas was developed by scientific staff of the Udmurt branch of the FCI Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and presented at specialized agricultural events, confirming its relevance and demand among agricultural producers. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptation to regional climatic conditions, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers seeking to obtain a stable and high-quality winter wheat crop.
