Description
The winter wheat variety Karmelyuk was created in close cooperation with producers aiming to obtain a high-yielding and highly adapted variety to environmental changes. It is characterized by an erect, or vertical, positioning of the flag leaf and roots, which reduces competition between plants within the stand. Karmelyuk belongs to the group of strong wheat varieties and has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2014.
Plants of this variety reach a height of 85-100 cm, exhibit high resistance to various diseases and stress factors such as lodging, shattering, root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew. A key feature is the protein content in the grain at the level of 13.0-15.5%, and the thousand-grain weight is approximately 39 grams. The yield potential of the variety reaches 82.8-102.0 centners per hectare (8.3-10.2 tons per hectare), making it one of the most productive among winter wheat varieties.
Karmelyuk is recommended to be sown at a rate of 4.5-5.0 million germinating seeds per hectare. Wheat as a crop is an important food and feed crop, with nearly half of the harvest used specifically for feed purposes. Due to its high agronomic performance and resistance to adverse conditions, the variety Karmelyuk is suitable for cultivation in various regions, ensuring stable and high yields.
