KRASNOYARSKAYA 12

The spring soft wheat variety Krasnoyarskaya 12 was created through intraspecific hybridization and individual selection at the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Agricultural Research Institute. It belongs to the 'lutescens' group and is characterized by a medium-maturing vegetative period ranging from 78 to 94 days. The plant is medium-height with a semi-erect tiller, pyramidal white ear, and colored grain. The mass of 1000 grains is 35-39 grams. The variety exhibits high ecological plasticity and is adapted for cultivation in the East Siberian region, including Krasnoyarsk and Zabaykalsky Krai, and the republics of Buryatia, Khakassia, and Tuva, and is recommended for the forest-steppe zone and southern chernozems of Krasnoyarsk Krai.

Krasnoyarskaya 12 demonstrates high yield, averaging about 29.2 c/ha in variety trials, which significantly exceeds the indicators of standard varieties Omskaya 32 and Omskaya 33. Maximum yield reached 59.1 c/ha in the Khakassia Republic. The variety is distinguished by its drought resistance and resistance to lodging, making it a reliable choice for arid and forest-steppe regions. It also possesses comprehensive resistance to fungal diseases, including brown and stem rust, and loose smut, confirmed by trials at the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Agricultural Research Institute.

In terms of grain quality, Krasnoyarskaya 12 belongs to valuable soft wheat varieties with baking properties at the filler level. The variety shows moderate resistance to ear fusarium, septoria, and loose smut, and moderate susceptibility to root rots and powdery mildew. Thanks to the combination of high productivity, resistance to adverse conditions, and good technological characteristics, Krasnoyarskaya 12 is a promising variety for widespread cultivation in regions with various soil and climatic conditions.
