KWS Sunset

Wheat variety KWS Sunset is a soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with a medium vegetation period of 80 to 90 days and average plant height of 70-80 cm. This variety is characterized by high yield and large grain size, confirmed by a 1000-grain weight ranging from 42-50 g. The number of grains per ear is high, and tillering intensity is very high, contributing to the formation of a strong and productive plant mass.

KWS Sunset exhibits high resistance to major diseases such as Fusarium ear rot, yellow rust, and powdery mildew, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. The variety is included in the State Register for the Central, Ural, and West Siberian regions, and is recommended for cultivation in regions 3, 9, and 10. Yield potential reaches 100 centners/ha, with the maximum yield recorded in state trials being 76.6 centners/ha.

The grain of KWS Sunset is characterized by high quality: crude protein content is 15-16%, crude gluten content is 28-30%, and test weight ranges from 700-800 g/L. For sowing, the recommended planting time is with seed depth of 3-5 cm and seeding rate of 4.5-6 million/ha. These parameters ensure effective utilization of the variety's potential and achieve high yields of quality grain.
