LUBAVA 5

Wheat variety 'Lubava 5' is a spring soft wheat developed by Kazakhstani breeders from the scientific and production firm 'Phiton'. This variety belongs to the erythrosporum type and is characterized by early maturity with a vegetation period of about 83 days. The plant is of medium height with a semi-upright bush, narrow green leaves with moderate waxy bloom and weak pubescence during tillering. The ear is spindle-shaped, white in color, with spreading awns of medium length and coarseness. The grain is red, medium-sized, elongated with a shallow crease; the 1000-grain mass varies from 27 to 40 grams.


The 'Lubava 5' variety is distinguished by high drought and heat resistance, making it suitable for cultivation in conditions with limited moisture. It is resistant to brown rust and also shows resistance to rooting germination and shattering. Baking qualities of the variety are good, with protein content in the grain reaching 15-15.5%, and gluten content significantly exceeding standard indicators, which positively affects the quality of flour and bread. Average yield in recommended regions is about 20-22 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators up to 46.7 centners.


The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including Kostanay region of Kazakhstan and Chelyabinsk region of Russia. It is suitable for cultivation both on fallow land and after cereal predecessors. Thanks to its agronomic and technological characteristics, 'Lubava 5' is a promising choice for farmers seeking to obtain a stable and high-quality crop of spring soft wheat.
