Description
Wheat variety Malanka is a grain variety recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe, steppe, and Polissia regions of Ukraine. This mid-early variety is characterized by high adaptability to drought conditions, ensuring stable productivity even under challenging climatic conditions. Plant height ranges from 88 to 110 cm, and the thousand-grain weight is 42 to 45 grams. Protein content in the grain ranges from 11-14.7%, indicating high product quality.
Malanka variety exhibits high resistance to various diseases and adverse factors: lodging, shattering, root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew. Resistance level for most indicators reaches 7-8 points, making this variety a reliable choice for farmers aiming to minimize crop losses.
To achieve maximum yield, which can reach 10.1-11.1 tons per hectare, intensive cultivation techniques are recommended. A key element of agronomy is applying two to three nitrogenous fertilizations, including foliar application of urea during the heading-to-milk ripeness phase. Regular protection of plants from pests and diseases using fungicides, especially after heading, is also necessary. The optimal seeding rate is 5.5-6.0 million viable seeds per hectare, with sowing recommended during the latter half of the optimal sowing window.
