Description
Malinivka — winter soft wheat, developed by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register in 2014. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones, indicating its high adaptability to various climatic conditions, including drought-prone areas. Malinivka is a medium-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 281–287 days and plant height of 88–92 cm, making it short-stemmed and resistant to lodging and shattering.
The variety is characterized by high productivity, achieving yields of 10.1–11.1 t/ha under intensive cultivation. The grain of Malinivka has high quality: 1000-grain weight ranges from 42–45 g, and protein content varies from 14.0 to 14.7%, ensuring high nutritional value. Additionally, the variety is resistant to major diseases and pests, as well as to stress factors such as drought and low temperatures, confirming its high winter hardiness and drought tolerance.
Malinivka belongs to the erythrospermum group and is primarily intended for grain use. Due to its biological and agronomic characteristics, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality wheat yields across various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine.
