Description
Malovanka is winter wheat of medium early maturity, belonging to the high-yielding type. It features a cylindrical, medium-length and dense ear with large, egg-shaped red kernels having a shallow groove. Plants are of medium height (88-92 cm), short-stemmed, and strong, providing resistance to lodging and shattering. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and adaptation to droughty conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia regions of Ukraine.
Malovanka exhibits high yield potential — from 10.1 to 11.1 tons per hectare with proper mineral nutrition and protection against diseases and pests. The grain is valued for its high technological and baking properties, with protein content in the grain ranging from 14.0-14.7%, and 1000-grain weight varying from 42 to 45 grams. This makes Malovanka wheat highly sought after for grain use.
The variety demonstrates resistance to major diseases and stress factors: lodging resistance is rated 8-9 points, shattering resistance — 7-9 points, resistance to root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew — within the range of 7-9 points. Thanks to these characteristics, Malovanka is a reliable choice for intensive agriculture with high demands for quality and yield.
