Namisto

Winter wheat Namisto — a medium-maturing variety of soft wheat, developed by the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agronomy NAAN" and registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register in 2018 for the Polissia and Forest-Steppe regions. This variety belongs to the Central European ecotype and is characterized by a glabrous, medium-height plant with a height of 82 to 99 cm and a vegetation period of about 270-275 days. The plant is upright, with a thick, strong, and loosely filled stem, frequently curved leaf sheaths, and weak anthocyanin pigmentation on the ears. The ear is semi-spear-shaped, dense, about 7.5 cm long, with teeth on the lower glumes, red grain, and a 1000-grain weight of 46 g.

Variety Namisto is distinguished by high yield, reaching 9.5 t/ha, and excellent baking qualities. The grain protein content is 14.5 %, and gluten content is 29.1 %. The flour strength varies from 230 to 330 units, providing bread volume up to 1200 ml. Thanks to these characteristics, this wheat is suitable for producing high-quality flour and bakery products.

In addition, the variety demonstrates high resistance to adverse factors: winter hardiness is rated at 8-9, high frost tolerance, drought resistance — 7-8 points. Namisto is resistant to lodging and exhibits enhanced resistance to complex diseases, including powdery mildew, septoria, fusarium ear rot, brown and stem rust. These qualities make this variety a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions, ensuring stable and high yields.
