Description
Wheat variety "Omskaya 29" is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) of medium maturity with a vegetation period ranging from 72 to 96 days. This variety is characterized by high drought resistance and lodging resistance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The bushes have an intermediate type, the culm is hollow with a strong waxy coating on the upper internode and hairiness on the upper node. The ear is cylindrical, from loose to medium, white in color with a weak waxy coating, and the grain is ovoid with a long awn and colored. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 34 to 40 grams.
The "Omskaya 29" variety demonstrates high yield indicators: in the West Siberian region, the average yield is about 26.8 cts/ha, and according to some research reaches 37.9 cts/ha, in the East Siberian region — 35.2 cts/ha. Baking qualities of the grain are high and excellent, which makes this variety in demand for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products. The variety is characterized by strong wheat with good growth strength.
In terms of disease resistance, "Omskaya 29" shows weak susceptibility to powdery bunt and is weakly affected by brown rust under natural conditions, despite some susceptibility to it. However, the variety is susceptible to covered bunt and powdery mildew, and has low resistance to septoria. Recommended for cultivation in the Western and Eastern Siberia regions, including Kemerovo and Novosibirsk regions, as well as the Republic of Buryatia.
