Description
Pathos is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), characterized by a medium-early maturity period and a vegetative period ranging from 218 to 306 days depending on the region. The plant is short, with a height ranging from 70 to 89 cm, and has an erect or semi-erect bush. The ear is cylindrical, of medium density and length, with a white color and a colored grain. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 35 to 46 grams. The variety belongs to the Lutescens type and is distinguished by good lodging resistance, surpassing several standard varieties in this regard. Pathos has good winter hardiness, comparable to the Odessa 267 variety and the Batyko standard, as well as moderate drought resistance, close to the standard varieties of the region. It is resistant to brown rust and powdery mildew, while being susceptible to solid head smut. Under field conditions, infection with septoria and powdery mildew is minimal, which contributes to stable crop formation. The average yield of the variety reaches 47.6 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators up to 90.6 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity in various climatic conditions. The Pathos variety is recommended for cultivation in various zones, including the Western-Delta and South-Foot-hill zones of Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol Krai, Azov and South zones of Rostov Region, as well as the Republic of Adygea. It is distinguished by excellent baking qualities, making it in demand for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products. Due to its high adaptability to environmental stress factors and stable yield, Pathos is a promising variety for intensive farming.
