Pirueta

Winter wheat variety Pirueta is an early-maturing, glabrous (without awns) type, suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including arid regions. This variety exhibits high resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew, root rots, Fusarium head blight, and brown rust, ensuring stable yields and reducing risk of losses. Recommended sowing rates vary depending on planting time: early — 3.2 million seeds per hectare, optimal — 3.5 million seeds, late — 3.9 million seeds. Pirueta plants are low-growing, lodging-resistant, and resistant to grain shattering, facilitating harvest and improving grain quality. The variety belongs to strong wheat types with high bread-making qualities, confirmed by high gluten and protein content. Grain quality indicators include 1000-grain mass of approximately 40.6 g, grain density 754 g/l, protein content 13.88 %, glassiness 77 %, gluten content 29.5 %, as well as high whiteness and gluten deformation index (IDI), providing excellent characteristics for bread-making. Pirueta is recommended for cultivation in regions with varied climatic conditions, including southern and eastern Ukraine, as well as the territory of Belarus. The variety possesses good winter hardiness (rating 4.7) and lodging resistance (4.9), which contributes to yield preservation under adverse weather conditions. Average flour yield from grain is approximately 70 %, making this variety attractive for farmers focused on producing high-quality bakery products.
