Prestizhna

Prestizhna — a tall winter wheat variety with exceptionally large grains, recommended for cultivation in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia regions of Ukraine. This variety has a medium-late maturity period — approximately 275 days, forming a semi-erect plant with a thick, sturdy stem about 110 cm tall. The ear is white, elongated (13-14 cm long), medium density, and cylindrical in shape. The grain is white, oval-elongated, medium width and size, with a 1000-grain weight of 51-54 g. Prestizhna exhibits high resistance to a complex of diseases, including root rots, brown rust, hard and powdery mildew. It also demonstrates high drought and winter hardiness, ensuring a stable yield of 10.6 t/ha. Grain quality indicators include protein content of 13.6% and gluten content of 27.4%, providing good baking properties: flour strength of 295 arbitrary units, and loaf volume reaching 960 mm. Prestizhna belongs to the erythrospermum variety and was registered in 2018 by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine. Due to its characteristics, this variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions in Ukraine, ensuring high productivity and grain quality meeting the standards of superior varieties.
