PROTON

Winter wheat variety PROTON is a mid-season and medium-height soft wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety with high and stable productivity in steppe and forest-steppe zones. Thanks to good winter hardiness and a quick spring start, the variety demonstrates excellent adaptation to various climatic conditions. It is characterized by a high tillering coefficient, resistance to lodging and shedding, and resistance to basic leaf and head diseases, which contributes to a stable harvest.

PROTON is characterized by resistance to lodging and moderate resistance to brown rust and septoria, but it is susceptible to hard head smut and fusarium head blight. The drought resistance of the variety is at the level of the standard, which makes it suitable for growing in various regions, including the Krasnodar Krai, Central, Azovian, and South zones of the Rostov region, as well as the Stavropol Krai. The vegetation period ranges from 226 to 278 days, and the maximum yield reaches 84.0 c/ha.

The recommended sowing rate varies depending on the sowing time: early sowing - 3.3 million pcs. per 1 ha, optimal - 3.4 million pcs., late - 3.5 million pcs. The variety has good baking qualities, which makes it in demand for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products.
