SALAVAT YULAEV

Salavat Yulaev is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety developed by individual selection from a hybrid combination of the Omskaya 30 and Omskaya 20 varieties. It is characterized by a medium-early vegetative period of 75 to 89 days and a stem height of up to 106 cm. The ear is white, non-hairy, prismatic, medium density, and awnless. The grain is red, large, semi-elongated, with a mass of 1000 grains ranging from 38 to 42 grams. Protein content in the grain reaches 16.4%, and gluten content reaches 36.1%, providing good baking qualities.

The variety exhibits wide ecological adaptability and resistance to lodging, drought, powdery mildew, brown rust, and stem rust. It is recommended for cultivation in the South Forest-Steppe and Pre-Ural Steppe zones of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as in the Pre-Ural Steppe zone. With moderate drought resistance, the variety demonstrates high yield — up to 42.4 centners per hectare (4.24 t/ha), confirmed by trials on variety testing plots.

Salavat Yulaev is distinguished by good filler quality and resistance to major diseases, making it attractive for agricultural production in regions with variable climatic conditions. Thanks to high technological characteristics of the grain and stable yield, this variety is widely used in the baking industry and recommended for cultivation in the Ural region and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
