SARATOV GOLDEN

The spring durum wheat variety 'Saratov Golden' was developed at the Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture of the Southern Volga and is distinguished by high yield and unique grain qualities. This medium-early variety is characterized by a cylindrical white ear measuring 7-8 cm in length with a density of 22-23 spikes per 10 cm, as well as large, semi-elongated grains with a distinct amber hue caused by high concentrations of carotenoid pigments in the endosperm. The grain possesses a glassy structure and strong, elastic gluten, which enhances its commercial value and the nutritional value of end products. During heading and flowering, the leaves of the variety exhibit an intensive waxy coating, which is one of the plant's biological features.

'Saratov Golden' is distinguished by its wide plasticity and stable yield, reaching 35-40 c/ha under production conditions. At yields above 25 c/ha, the variety tends to lodging, which requires attention during agrotechnical care. Additionally, if late-summer precipitation occurs, regrowth of the tiller may occur. Thanks to high resistance to grain germination and stable yield indicators, this variety successfully competes in the Russian seed and grain market.

The economic attractiveness of the variety is determined not only by the high level of quality grain production but also by its unique properties, such as the highest carotenoid content among known domestic varieties, exceeding the indicators of other varieties by 1.5-2 times. This makes 'Saratov Golden' in demand for use as an improver in food production, enhancing their nutritional value and appearance. The variety is intended for sowing and growing for agronomic purposes, ensuring stable and high yields.
