Description
Charm is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) characterized by a medium-early maturity period and medium plant height. It is distinguished by its dwarf stature, which contributes to resistance to lodging and grain shedding, an important advantage for increasing yield and product quality. The variety has high winter hardiness, close to that of the Bezostaya 100 variety, as well as drought and heat tolerance exceeding the average level, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions of the North Caucasus region and Lower Volga. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 41 to 52 grams, indicating large-grainedness and high raw material quality. Charm is distinguished by high baking qualities, which are evaluated as good and excellent, making it in demand for the production of bakery products. The variety has high resistance to brown and yellow rust, as well as powdery mildew, which significantly reduces the risk of yield loss due to diseases. At the same time, it is moderately susceptible to glume and grain septoria, hard head, as well as susceptible to fusarium of the ear and viral diseases, which requires the application of appropriate agro-technical measures to protect crops. Recommendations for cultivating the Charm variety include its use in Krasnodar Krai, the Azov and South zones of Rostov Oblast, as well as in the Eastern and Central zones of Stavropol Krai. The optimal sowing rate is 3-4 million viable seeds per hectare, which ensures maximum yield and effective use of sown areas. Thanks to its adaptive properties and resistance to adverse factors, the Charm variety is a valuable choice for agricultural producers seeking to obtain a stable and high-quality wheat harvest.
