Description
SI ATLANT is a hard spring wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) variety characterized by a medium-late maturity period with a vegetative period ranging from 78 to 89 days. The plant has short-medium height, semi-erect culm, and medium straw thickness. The head is cylindrical, short, white, and of medium density, with long white awns. The grain is semi-elongated, white, with short awns. Waxy bloom on the flag leaf blade, head, and culm neck is expressed very strongly, which is one of the variety's features. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 37 to 48 grams.
The variety is distinguished by its good pasta-making qualities, making it in demand for the production of pasta products. In terms of disease resistance, SI ATLANT is moderately resistant to solid bunt and powdery mildew, but susceptible to loose smut. Resistance to brown rust is also noted. In terms of drought tolerance, the variety is at the level or slightly below the standard. It is resistant to lodging, outperforming the standard by up to 1 point, which helps in maintaining the yield and facilitates harvesting.
SI ATLANT is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Black Earth region, the Urals region, and the Middle Volga region. In the Lipetsk and Oryol regions, the variety showed high yields—up to 58.5 ц/ha and a maximum of 76.9 ц/ha respectively, exceeding the average indicators of standard varieties. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, SI ATLANT is a promising choice for agricultural producers focused on obtaining high-quality grain with good technological properties.
