Description
The winter soft wheat variety Slaven is medium-early and has a vegetation period ranging from 278 to 281 days. This variety belongs to the erythrospermum type of wheat and is characterized by high yield, averaging 102.4 centners per hectare. On soils with high mineralization and adequate moisture, Slaven demonstrates record yields, yet also performs well on regular soils with proper crop rotation and use of quality predecessors. To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to apply mineralization of the soil starting from autumn sowing, continuing in spring on frozen soil and after flowering during the grain-filling stage. This approach provides plants with necessary nutrients and contributes to obtaining high-quality grain.
To maintain crop health and protect against diseases and pests during the vegetation period, plant protection agents and herbicides are applied for weed control. The freshly milled grain of the Slaven variety exhibits a longer dormancy period compared to other varieties, which positively affects its storage and subsequent utilization. Sowing is recommended in the second half of the optimal period, with seeds planted at a depth of 5-7 cm, which promotes good germination and plant development.
Morphologically, the variety is characterized by a spike with a cylindrical shape of medium length (approximately 8-10 cm) and medium density, with 21-22 nodes per 10 cm of spike stem. The grain is red in color, medium in length and width. The stem is covered with moderate waxy coating on the upper internodes, which contributes to resistance against adverse conditions. This is a versatile variety suitable for various agroclimatic zones, exhibiting resistance to diseases and stress factors, as well as adaptability to growing conditions, making it attractive for diverse regions.
