Description
The soft spring wheat variety Stolypinskaya 2 is a mid-early or mid-late variety of Triticum aestivum L., intended for cultivation in the Urals and Western Siberia regions, including Chelyabinsk, Omsk, and Kemerovo oblasts. The vegetative period ranges from 78 to 89 days, maturing a few days later than the 'Pamyati Azieva' variety. This variety is characterized by technological ease of cultivation, resistance to lodging, shattering, and grain sprouting on the stubble, ensuring yield stability and grain quality. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 35 to 44 grams, indicating good grain development.
Stolypinskaya 2 has good bread-making qualities and moderate yield, reaching 25.0 centners per hectare in the Ural region and up to 30.6 centners per hectare in Western Siberia. The variety is drought-resistant and stable against lodging at the standard level, but susceptible to root rot, powdery mildew, and brown rust, which requires attention during agronomic practices. Thanks to its agronomic properties, the variety is suitable for organic farming and features low maintenance costs.
A distinctive feature of Stolypinskaya 2 is the purple grain coloration, caused by elevated anthocyanin content, which not only protects the plant from adverse conditions but is also beneficial to human health. Additionally, the variety contains increased levels of zinc and iron, making it particularly valuable for producing eco-friendly products. Wheat can be utilized in various agricultural directions, including hay production and export, expanding its application possibilities and enhancing economic efficiency.
