ULGENYA

The Ulgenya spring soft wheat variety is a medium-maturing crop with a vegetative period of about 86 days. It was developed under the conditions of the Kuznetsk Depression in Western Siberia and belongs to the Western Agroecological Group. The plant is tall, resistant to lodging and drought, which ensures stable productivity even in unfavorable climatic conditions. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 35.6 to 40.1 grams, and the average number of grains in an ear reaches 28.1 pieces.

The yield of the Ulgenya variety is characterized by high productivity and exceeds regional standard indicators. In the Western Siberian region, the average yield is about 37.9 c/ha, in the Eastern Siberian region — 35.2 c/ha, and in some cases reaches 4.83 t/ha, which is 0.61 t/ha higher than standard values. The variety has good and excellent baking qualities due to high protein and raw gluten content, which makes it in demand for flour and bread production.

Ulgenya is characterized by high resistance to powdery scab and brown rust, which reduces yield losses and improves grain quality. However, resistance to septoria in the variety is low, which requires attention when choosing plant protection agents. It is recommended for cultivation in regions of Western and Eastern Siberia, including the Kemerovo and Novosibirsk regions, the Republic of Buryatia, as well as in the central belt of Russia, which confirms its adaptability and versatility in agriculture.
