Description
Vilshana demonstrates high resistance to major diseases, including rust, powdery mildew, and Fusarium, confirmed by tests at conditional standard levels. It is an intensive type, well-tolerating high doses of mineral and organic fertilizers, recommended for cultivation both after crop rotations and after non-crop predecessors such as silage corn, grain peas, and perennial grasses. Thanks to its high winter hardiness and synchronized tillering, Vilshana ensures stable and high grain production.
The grain is large, red, with a thousand-grain weight of 42.8–42.9 g. In terms of physico-chemical and baking properties, Vilshana produces high-quality grain with protein content of 13.0–14.0% and gluten content of 30.5%. Dough strength reaches 268 W o.a., enabling the production of bread with volume of 1100–1230 ml. The potential yield of the variety in production fields ranges from 75.1 to 118.5 c/ha (7.5–11.9 t/ha). The recommended seeding rate is 4.5–5.5 million germinating seeds per hectare. Vilshana is included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine and belongs to the group of strong wheats, making it an attractive choice for intensive and sustainable agriculture.
