Description
Hard spring wheat of the YASENKA variety is a mid-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 88 to 99 days, maturing 2-3 days later than the Nikolasha variety. The plant is of medium height with a semi-upright stem and medium straw thickness. The ear is pyramid-shaped, short, white, and dense, with white awns that are longer than the ear. The grain is semi-elongated, light in color, with a long awn; the mass of 1000 grains ranges from 39 to 45 grams. The waxy coating on the ear, the sheath of the flag leaf, and at the straw neck is expressed very strongly, while on the leaf blade it is moderate. The pubescence of the upper node is absent or very weak. The YASENKA variety is characterized by good lodging resistance and drought resistance at the level of the Nikolasha variety, making it suitable for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, in particular in Krasnodar Krai. The average yield in this region is 29.1 centners per hectare, which is 2.7 centners higher than the average standard, while the maximum yield reached 61.8 centners per hectare. The variety is recommended for producing grain intended for the production of high-quality pasta and cereal products, as pasta qualities are at the level of the standard. YASENKA possesses resistance to brown rust and moderate resistance to powdery bunt, while being moderately susceptible to covered bunt. Under field conditions, the variety is weakly affected by powdery mildew. These characteristics make it a reliable choice for agricultural production in regions with similar climatic conditions, ensuring a stable yield and high grain quality.
