Description
YERSHOVSKAYA 11 — a winter soft wheat variety created by breeders at the Yershovskaya Experimental Station of Irrigated Farming of the Southern Federal Research Institute of Agriculture. This semi-early variety is characterized by medium growth and high yield, reaching up to 32.1 c/ha in the region. The spike is white, awnless, cylindrical, 7.0-7.5 cm long with a density of 21 spikelets per 10 cm. The grain is large, semi-elongated in shape with a light-red color and a hairy base. Yershovskaya 11 possesses good winter hardiness and resistance to lodging, ensuring stable production of high-quality grain.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to diseases, including powdery mildew and brown rust, as well as moderate resistance to septoria. These qualities make it a reliable choice for cultivation in various regions, such as the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, and Lower Volga. Yershovskaya 11 is recommended for sowing on fertilized non-fallow predecessors, half-fallow, and also under medium-intensive and extensive technologies, including saline soils.
The bread-making qualities of the variety are at a high level, confirming its status as a strong wheat. Thanks to the combination of high yield, resistance to lodging and diseases, as well as excellent technological grain characteristics, Yershovskaya 11 is a competitive and economically viable variety for commercial grain production.
