Description
Medium-late maturing variety, developed at the VNIIS named after I.V. Michurin by crossing the varieties 'Black Pearl' and 'Ojebyn'. Authors: T.S. Zvyagina and T.V. Zhidkhina. Included in the State Register of Varieties approved for use in the Central Black Earth Region in 2006.
Medium-height, medium-spreading bush. Woody stems of medium thickness, straight, grayish in color, with weak gloss, tips of stems with yellowish blush. Buds medium-sized, elongated-oval, reddish, sit on short stems, slightly deviated from the stems, solitary, leaf scar shape rounded-triangular.
Leaf five-lobed, medium-sized, green. Blade smooth, matte, leathery, wrinkled, flat, leaf margin straight. Lobes pointed, central lobe longer than lateral ones, sometimes with additional projections. Lateral lobes widely spaced, angle between their midveins obtuse. Basal lobes well developed. Base of leaf with triangular notch, of medium depth. Teeth large, wide, double-toothed, with distinctly white 'tips'. Petiole medium length and thickness, colored with anthocyanin, slightly hairy at base of leaf.
Flowers medium-sized, cup-shaped, calyx lobes pale-purple, free, curved into arcs. Inflorescences medium length (5.3-6.5 cm), conical in shape, arranged in groups of more than two on stems, curved into arcs.
Berries medium to large (1.3-1.5 g), round, black, with medium seed count, tart-sweet flavor (4.5 points), versatile use. Receptacle round, medium-sized, closed. Chemical composition: dry matter — 18.7%, total sugars — 12.9%, titratable acidity — 2.7%, ascorbic acid — 192.7 mg/100 g, P-active substances — 1300.0 mg/100 g, pectin — 3.3%.
Winter-hardy, self-fertile, early-bearing, resistant to fungal diseases, suitable for mechanized cultivation, average yield 12.4 t/ha (3.7 kg/plant).
Advantages of the variety: high productivity, large berry size, high fruiting, spur-type fruiting.
Disadvantages of the variety: uneven berry size.
