Description
Medium-late maturing variety, developed at the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Selection from a cross between varieties 'Lentay' and 'Yershisty'. Authors: T.P. Ogoltsova, S.D. Knyazev, L.V. Bayanova. Included in the State Register of Varieties Approved for Use in the Volga-Vyatka and West Siberian regions in 2008.
Bush is vigorous, semi-spreading, medium-density. Growing shoots are green, hairy, shiny, thick. Woody stems are thick, evenly tapering toward the tip, weakly shiny, gray with a brown tip.
Leaf is five-lobed, gray-green, rough, slightly wrinkled, weakly corrugated. Sutures between lobes are small. Central lobe is broadly triangular with an acute, elongated tip and additional protrusions. Side lobes are much shorter than the central lobe, broad, sharp, with a straight or acute angle between their veins. Upper sides of side lobes lie on one straight line or at an angle to the central vein, lower sides are vertical. Basal lobes are very weakly expressed, their veins spread out. Base is flat or rounded, with a very small, wide notch. Teeth are small, sharp, petioles are not hairy, weakly colored with anthocyanin, coloration appears late.
Flowers are medium-sized, pale pink, calyx lobes are medium-sized, weakly colored. Inflorescence is short, medium-density, axis is medium-sized, straight.
Berries are large (2.3 g), round, non-uniform, nearly black, skin thick, seed count medium. Pedicel is medium, calyx is half-open. Flavor is sweet-tart (4.3 points), refreshing, with aroma. Berries are versatile. Chemical composition: dry matter — 11.9%, total sugars — 7.6%, titratable acidity — 3.2%, ascorbic acid — 133.2 mg/100 g, anthocyanins — 160.0 mg/100 g, leucoanthocyanins — 328.8 mg/100 g, catechins — 319.9 mg/100 g, total P-active substances — 802.7 mg/100 g.
Winter-hardy, early-bearing, self-fertile (59%), with high field resistance to powdery mildew, anthracnose, and septoria, moderately affected by rust and bud mite. Suitable for mechanized harvest, average yield 8.3 t/ha (1.2 kg/plant).
Advantages of the variety: high stable yield, large berry size, resistance to double-flowering, technological suitability.
Disadvantages of the variety: non-uniformity and non-simultaneity of berry ripening, susceptibility to rust and bud mite.
