Description
Medium-ripening variety, developed at the All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Fruit Crops from open-pollinated selected forms of red currant. Breeders: O.S. Zhukov, N.I. Koloteva, A.P. Okolelova. Included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements approved for use in the Central Chernozem region in 2006.
Medium-height, moderately spreading bush. Growing shoots are medium in thickness, straight, brownish-brown, hairless, matte. Buds are elongated-oval, small, deviated from the shoots, sit on medium-length petioles. Stipule trace is narrow.
Leaf five-lobed, medium-sized, dark green, matte, wrinkled. Leaf blade is bare. Leaf margin is wavy. Lobes are pointed, central lobe is short and broad, the notch between it and side lobes is shallow, the angle between central veins is acute, side lobes are close together. Basal lobes are poorly developed. Leaf base is heart-shaped, with a shallow or deep open notch. Teeth are large, tooth tips are blunt. Petiole is long, thin, green.
Flowers of medium size, bell-shaped. Sepals are pale in color, not closed, slightly open. Inflorescences are medium length, up to 6.0 cm (with petiole), dense, hanging. Axis is medium, petiole is long and hairy.
Berries are large (0.9 g), round, creamy with a delicate pink tint, thin-skinned. Seed quantity is medium. Taste is sour-sweet, delicate, with a refreshing aroma, rated 4.3 points. Receptacle is round, medium, open, fruit stalk is medium length. Chemical composition: dry solids — 12.5%, total sugars — 7.8%, titratable acidity — 1.7%, ascorbic acid — 29.5 mg/100 g, P-active substances — 367.0 mg/100 g, pectin (dry weight) — 0.4%.
Winter-hardy, high-yielding, average multi-year yield is 13.2 t/ha (3.2 kg/plant), self-fertility is good, resistant to diseases and pests.
