Description
Medium-ripening variety, obtained at the VIR branch 'Polar Experimental Station' from crossing the varieties Imandra and Hietala. Authors: S.D. El'sakova, T.V. Romanova. Included in the State Register of Varieties Approved for Use in the Northern Region in 2007.
Medium-height, strongly spreading bush. Growing shoots are hairless and weakly pigmented with anthocyanin. Buds are large with weak anthocyanin pigmentation and hairiness.
Leaf five-lobed, medium to large, green, wrinkled, matte, medium density. Central lobe is broad, angle between central veins of lateral lobes is acute. Basal lobes are clearly defined. Teeth are large and blunt. Leaf base is heart-shaped with a small notch. Petiole is long, thick, hairless.
Flowers are large, pink, with medium anthocyanin pigmentation of the sepals. Inflorescence is long, medium, hanging. Petiole is medium, hairy.
Berries are large (1.5-1.8 g), round, one-dimensional, black, shiny, dessert-flavored (5 points), aromatic. Chemical composition: total sugars — 6.8%, organic acids — 4.1%, ascorbic acid — 147.8 mg/100 g.
Highly winter-hardy, early-fruiting, early-ripening variety, distinguished by high self-fertility. Average yield is 18.7 t/ha (3.9 kg /plant), resistant to powdery mildew, anthracnose, and septoria.
Advantages of the variety: resistance to powdery mildew, large berry size, good taste qualities.
Disadvantages of the variety: strongly spreading bush (lower branches with berries almost touching the ground), uneven ripening.
