Description
Late-ripening variety, developed at the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Selection from crossing varieties Rote Schpitzlese and Jonker van Tets. Breeders: L.V. Bayanova, O.D. Golyaeva, A.V. Petrov. Under state variety testing since 2007.
Strong-growing, semi-spreading, medium-density bush. Shoots are thick, moderately hairy, with anthocyanic coloring.
Five-lobed leaf, medium size, green, matte, leathery. Blade is wrinkled, slightly hairy, concave along main veins. Leaf tip is blunt. Angle between main veins of lateral lobes is blunt. Leaf base has a medium indentation. Teeth are short, blunt with clearly defined 'claw'. Petiole is thick with anthocyanic coloring.
Flowers are medium-sized, cup-shaped. Sepals are strongly curled downward, do not touch, with weak anthocyanic coloring. Inflorescences are very long (up to 14.0 cm), dense. Axes are medium thickness, anthocyanic, moderately hairy. Inflorescence petiole is long.
Berries are medium-sized (0.6-0.8 g), round, dark red, sweet-sour, pleasant taste, good gelling properties. Receptacle is closed. Chemical composition: soluble dry matter — 11.4%, total sugars — 7.0%, titratable acidity — 2.3%, ascorbic acid — 54.6%, P-active substances — 387.4 mg/100 g, pectin substances (on dry weight) — 11.1%.
Cold-hardy, high-yielding, average multi-year yield is 17.4 t/ha (2.5 kg/plant at planting scheme 0.5 x 2.8 m), self-fertile, not affected by powdery mildew, moderately affected by septoria.
Advantages of the variety: high yield, pectin content, quality of processed products (jelly), resistance to powdery mildew.
Disadvantages of the variety: susceptible to septoria.
