Description
Mid-season ripening variety, obtained at the VIR Branch 'Polar Experimental Station' from crossing the varieties Kandalaksha and Victoria Red. Breeders: S.D. Elsakova, T.V. Romanova. Since 2007, included in the State Register of Selection Achievements approved for use in the Northern region.
Strong-growing, slightly spreading bush. Stems thick and medium, straight, with medium anthocyanic coloring, slightly hairy, matte. Buds medium, egg-shaped, slightly hairy.
Large, green leaves. Leaf blade above smooth, below white due to hairs, centrally grooved, matte. Teeth blunt, short, not curled. Leaf base rounded with medium notch. Leaf three-lobed, with small notches, leaf tips blunt. Angle between central veins of lateral lobes nearly straight. Petiole very long, thin, pink.
Large flowers, pale in color. Ovule round, without ridges, hairy. Sepals medium, slightly hairy. Inflorescences long, dense, contain 10-12 berries, directed downward. Inflorescence axis medium, straight, hairy.
Berries medium (0.5-0.8 g), round, one-dimensional, red, thick skin, pleasant, tender, slightly sour, without aroma, rating 4.5 points. Berry stalk short, brown, thin, calyx closed, short, falling off. Chemical composition: total sugars — 5.0-5.5%, titratable acidity — 3.0-4.0%, ascorbic acid — 70.0 mg/100 g.
Highly cold-resistant variety, with high self-fertility (54-67%). Ripe berries do not drop off. High-yielding, average multi-year yield 16.5 t/ha (5.0 kg/plant). Slightly damaged by diseases and pests.
Advantages of the variety: cold resistance, high yield.
Disadvantages of the variety: insufficient berry size.
