Description
Mid-late maturing variety, obtained at the VIR Branch 'Polar Experimental Station' from crossing the varieties Kandalaksha and Victoria Red. Breeders: S.D. Elsakova, T.V. Romanova. Included in the State Register of Selection Achievements approved for use in the Northern region since 1994.
Medium-height, medium-spreading bush. Stems thick, straight, green, with weak anthocyanic coloring, slightly hairy, matte. Buds medium-sized, spindle-shaped, hairless.
Leaves medium-sized, green. Leaf blade slightly hairy, matte, leathery, straight, asymmetric. Teeth sharp, short, not curled. Leaf base rounded without notch. Three-lobed leaf with small notches, leaf tips sharp. Angle between central veins of lateral lobes acute or nearly right. Petiole short, thin, pink.
Flowers large, pale in color. Ovary naked, round, without ridges. Sepals medium-sized, hairless. Inflorescences long, dense, contain 6-8 berries. Inflorescence axis medium-sized, straight, hairless.
Berries medium-sized (0.4-0.7 g), round, one-dimensional, dark red, skin thin, pleasant taste, sweet-sour, no aroma, rating 4.5 points. Pedicel medium-sized, thin. Receptacle closed, short. Chemical composition: total sugars — 5.7%, titratable acidity — 3.0%, ascorbic acid — 75.0 mg/100 g.
Highly winter-hardy, possesses high self-fertility (up to 86%). Berries ripen simultaneously. High-yielding, average multi-year yield 11.2 t/ha (3.2 kg/plant). Slightly damaged by diseases and pests.
Advantages of the variety: high winter hardiness, uniform berry ripening.
Disadvantages of the variety: insufficient size and taste qualities of berries.
