Description
ALBINA 45 is a soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety characterized by a mid-season maturity type and high winter hardiness. The vegetative period of the variety ranges from 245 to 357 days depending on the growing region. The plant has a medium-height or tall form, with a white, awnless ear in cylindrical to weak-prismatic shape of medium length. The grain is white in color, medium-sized, oval-shaped, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 28 to 40 grams. It is resistant to shattering and possesses good baking qualities corresponding to the parameters of valuable wheat. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and frost resistance, confirmed by ratings of 4-5 points, exceeding standard indicators by 1.5-2.5 points. Albina 45 also demonstrates high drought tolerance, resistance to lodging, and resistance to grain germination on the root. Disease resistance varies: susceptibility to brown rust is average, while resistance to powdery mildew and snow mold is weak. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is well adapted to various climatic conditions, including forest-steppe and steppe zones, confirmed by its registration in the Kurgan region, Bashkortostan, Lower Volga, and Ural regions. ALBINA 45 is recommended for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones, including the Western, Central, and Northern right-bank zones of the Saratov region, as well as the Northern forest-steppe and Western steppe of the Orenburg region. The average yield of the variety is from 16.1 to 25.8 centners per hectare depending on the region, making it a promising choice for agricultural production. High yield, stability, and grain quality make this variety attractive for farmers seeking a reliable and productive crop of soft winter wheat.
