Apasovka: A Versatile Tool for Modern Agriculture

The wheat variety "Apasovka" from FANCA occupies a distinct niche in crop rotation due to its remarkable plasticity. Developed in collaboration with French originators (Av Du Capitaine N Tchorere, Airaines), this variety is adapted to challenging climatic conditions, demonstrating a rare capability for durum wheat to develop as both a winter and spring crop.

Biological Potential and Adaptability

The core value of this variety lies in its endurance. When sown as a winter crop, the vegetation period ranges from 270–280 days, while the spring version completes its cycle in 80–90 days. A plant height of 80–90 cm ensures good lodging resistance, which facilitates harvesting and minimizes losses. The 1,000-grain weight varies between 30 and 45 grams depending on the sowing type, and a gluten content of 25–30% ensures a consistently high-quality product for processing.

Protection and Yield

FANCA has prioritized comprehensive immunity. "Apasovka" possesses significant resistance to common bunt (Tilletia caries), which is critical for crop protection. The variety effectively resists a broad spectrum of pathogens:
