Description
CHAGYTAY is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety created by breeders Goncharov P.L., Nemtsev B.F., and Dongak M.M. This medium-early variety is intended for cultivation in arid regions such as the Republic of Tuva, the Minusinsk Basin, and Transbaikal. It is distinguished by high resistance to drought and lodging, making it particularly valuable for conditions with limited moisture. The plant is erect, the straw is weakly expressed, and the head is pyramidal and white. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 26 to 32 grams, indicating the large-grained nature of the variety. The yield of the CHAGYTAY variety averages from 20.6 to 29.5 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity in recommended growing regions. The variety has moderate resistance to powdery bunt but is susceptible to solid bunt and powdery mildew, and highly susceptible to brown rust. Despite this, the bread-making qualities of the wheat are at the level of the filler variety, making it suitable for the production of quality flour and bakery products. CHAGYTAY is included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements and has a patent for a breeding achievement No. 42718. Thanks to its adaptive properties and resistance to unfavorable conditions, this variety is an optimal choice for agricultural producers working in arid climates. Its cultivation contributes to the stable production of high-quality grain, which is important for the development of the agro-industrial complex in regions with limited natural resources.
