When selecting the 'Doridna' variety from the V. Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production, our priority is winter hardiness. With an 8-point rating, this soft winter wheat variety demonstrates excellent resilience, which is crucial for unpredictable climate conditions. In terms of operation, the variety proves to be highly manageable: with a plant height of 90–100 cm, it exhibits strong resistance to lodging, which simplifies harvesting and minimizes grain losses.

Agrotechnics and Plant Protection

Managing 'Doridna' requires a standard but diligent approach to fungicide application. The variety shows strong genetic resistance to leaf rust and barley yellow dwarf virus. However, given its susceptibility to powdery mildew, mold, and other viral diseases, we strictly follow preventive treatment schedules. To achieve its potential yield of 8–9 tons per hectare, we maintain a stem density of 4.5–5.0 million per hectare and ensure balanced fertilization.

Harvesting Efficiency

The awnless structure of the ear makes threshing significantly easier. With a 1,000-grain weight of 40–45 grams and a gluten content of 25–30%, 'Doridna' consistently meets milling quality requirements. The vegetation period (90–100 days from the resumption of spring growth) allows us to optimize harvest logistics and minimize equipment downtime.
