The winter wheat variety 'Hordovyta' is a product of the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS. It was developed to provide farmers with a reliable solution that balances high yield potential with field durability. As a soft winter wheat, it is specifically adapted to the climatic conditions of Ukraine, making it a staple for productive farming systems.

Field Performance and Yield Potential

Standing between 90-100 cm in height, 'Hordovyta' displays excellent resistance to lodging, which is critical for high-input management systems. The variety achieves a productive stand density of 4.5–5.0 million stalks per hectare. Under optimal conditions, the potential yield reaches 10–11 tons per hectare, positioning it as a highly competitive choice in the grain market.

Quality and Pathogen Resistance

• Thousand-kernel weight (TKW) ranges from 40 to 45 grams.
• Gluten content is high, consistently measuring between 25% and 30%.
• Winter hardiness is rated at 7 points, ensuring reliable survival during harsh winter months.

A key feature of 'Hordovyta' is its robust phytosanitary profile. It shows significant resistance to common pathogens, including loose and covered smut, as well as various types of rot.
