EN ALTALIS

EN Altalis is a medium-maturing soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety developed to achieve high yield and excellent grain quality. Plants of this variety have medium height ranging from 81 to 96 cm, a semi-erect-intermediate structure, and are lodging-resistant. The spike is pyramidal, white, of medium length, and loose, with a strong waxy coating and a beardless structure, which is a distinguishing feature of the variety. The mass of 1000 grains varies within 45–55 g, indicating large grain size and high flour yield during processing.

The variety is characterized by high frost and winter hardiness, ensuring its reliable development in the Central-Black Earth and Middle Volga regions. EN Altalis exhibits high resistance to shattering and grain germination in the spike, as well as high productive tillering. It is recommended for intensive cultivation on high and medium agrobackgrounds with a sowing rate of 300 to 450 seeds per square meter depending on the predecessor. The vegetative period ranges from 273 to 295 days, which is optimal for regional conditions.

In addition, the variety demonstrates complex resistance to major fungal diseases, including powdery and stinking bunt, powdery mildew, brown rust, and Fusarium head blight, with moderate susceptibility to septoria of the spike. Due to these characteristics, EN Altalis is a valuable variety for producing high-quality cereal products with increased flour yield, making it an attractive choice for agricultural producers focused on intensive and sustainable farming.
