Musa Bilozerkivska

Musa Bilozerkivska — a variety of winter soft wheat, recommended for cultivation throughout Ukraine. This variety belongs to the Lutescens group and is characterized by a semi-erect plant with a waxy coating on the flag leaf sheath, upper internode of the stem, and ear. The ear is cylindrical, of medium density and length, with large red kernels; the thousand-kernel weight ranges from 41 to 48 grams. The variety has high yield potential, reaching 10.9 t/ha on the NAAN Ukraine test plot in 2024, confirming its high productivity. Musa Bilozerkivska exhibits high resistance to major wheat diseases such as brown rust, ear fusarium, and root rots. Additionally, it shows increased resistance to septoria and powdery mildew, as well as high drought tolerance and resistance to kernel shattering. These qualities make it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions, ensuring stable yields even in adverse weather. The seeds of this variety contain high levels of protein and carbohydrates, making Musa Bilozerkivska wheat valuable for both food processing and animal feed industries. Thanks to its good winter hardiness and adaptability to different soil-climatic conditions, this variety has been widely used in Ukrainian agriculture since 2018, when it was included in the State Register of varieties suitable for dissemination.
