Developed by the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute (PBGI-NCSS), the Tvorchist Odeska variety represents a refined biological model for intensive farming. The primary technical goal achieved by the breeders was balancing grain mass with lodging resistance. With a plant height of 80–90 cm, the variety maintains structural integrity, supporting potential yields of 9–10 tons per hectare.

Biological Immunity as a Capital Protection

The hallmark of Tvorchist Odeska is its comprehensive genetic resistance, which effectively reduces the intensity of required fungicide applications. The selection process prioritized defense against pathogens common to the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine:

• Phytopathological Resilience: The variety possesses a high resistance threshold against root rot and powdery mildew, safeguarding the productive stem density throughout the season.
• Entomological Defense: The genotype includes mechanisms of resistance to the Hessian fly and grain moth, which is vital in regions with high pest pressure.

Agrotechnical Parameters and Grain Quality

With a vegetation period of 280–290 days, the variety is classified as mid-ripening, allowing for efficient utilization of autumn and spring moisture. The awnless type of wheat facilitates harvesting and minimizes mechanical loss during threshing.

Technical grain quality indicators align with international processing standards:

• 1000-kernel weight: 45–50 grams, ensuring high commercial grain yield.
• Gluten content: 25–30%. These parameters classify Tvorchist as a premium soft wheat variety with predictable baking properties, ensuring stable market demand.

Achieving its potential of 8–9 tons (and up to 10 tons under optimal intensive management) requires adherence to established agronomic practices, yet the variety's innate adaptability allows it to perform reliably even under adverse climatic scenarios.
