Odessa Enigma

Odessa Enigma is a high-yielding winter soft wheat variety developed by the Selection-Genetic Institute of the National Center for Seed Production and Variety Evaluation in Odessa. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 110-125 c/ha (approximately 10 t/ha), and exhibits resistance to various adverse factors such as lodging, drought, frost, heat, as well as diseases and pests including powdery mildew, rust, Fusarium ear rot, shore fly, and the cereal bug. Plant height varies from 78.6 to 93.7 cm, and the protein content in the grain ranges from 13.3-14%, ensuring high-quality raw material for the bakery industry.

The maturity period of the variety is 280-284 days, allowing effective planning of agronomic activities and harvest. Due to its adaptability to changing climatic conditions, Odessa Enigma is successfully grown in various regions of Ukraine, demonstrating stable yield and grain quality indicators.

The variety is produced in elite reproduction and supplied in 50 kg bags or 1-ton big-bags, convenient for various scales of agricultural production.

The primary use of the variety is in bread and other wheat-based product manufacturing, where high taste quality and technological properties of the grain are essential. Odessa Enigma is among the promising varieties developed to ensure food security and enhance wheat production efficiency in Ukraine.
