Description
Soft winter wheat variety Polina is a medium-maturing and medium-statured variety created through interspecific hybridization based on the Ermak and Vostorg varieties. Plants reach a height of 80 to 99 cm, possess medium length, and are resistant to lodging. The vegetative period ranges from 214 to 289 days, maturing 3-5 days later than the Don 107 standard. The mass of 1,000 grains varies from 37 to 44 grams. This variety belongs to the lutescens group and is characterized by enhanced winter hardiness, which exceeds the average level, as well as good drought resistance at the standard level. Polina is distinguished by high yield and resistance to a number of diseases, including brown and yellow rust, powdery bunt, and powdery mildew. Thanks to these qualities, the variety successfully adapts to various climatic conditions, making it recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, as well as in the North-Western, Azov Sea, and Southern zones of Rostov Oblast and the Stavropol Krai. The sowing rate is 4.5-5.5 million viable seeds per hectare, which ensures optimal conditions for obtaining a stable yield. The Polina variety is widely used in the food industry due to the good baking qualities of the grain. It produces high-quality flour used for making bread, cereals, and other food products. Thus, this variety combines high productivity, resistance to adverse factors, and excellent technological properties, making it an attractive choice for agricultural producers and processors.
