The winter wheat variety Ponticus is a high-quality mid-early maturing crop widely used in the food industry due to its excellent technological properties. It is characterized by a medium ripening time, medium-short plant height, and high resistance to lodging, ensuring stable yields and easy harvesting. The potential yield of this variety reaches 95 centners per hectare, making it an attractive choice for farmers, especially when grown after such preceding crops as rapeseed, sugar beet, and corn.

Ponticus exhibits high resistance to major wheat diseases, including brown and yellow rust, fusarium, leaf and spike septoria, and powdery mildew. The resistance level to these diseases is rated at 7-9 points, indicating reliable plant protection under various climatic conditions. Additionally, the variety shows high drought and cold tolerance, enabling successful cultivation across different regions of Europe, including Germany, where it ranks among the top winter wheat varieties.

The grain quality of Ponticus is also high: the 1000-grain weight is 46-49 g, protein and gluten content are rated at 8-8.5 points, and falling number and sedimentation values reach 9 points. This ensures high flour yield and good bread volume, which is particularly important for the food industry. Recommended sowing dates are from September 5 to October 15, with a seeding rate of 3.5-4.5 million germinating seeds per hectare.
