Fungal diseases are often our biggest headache, but PS Sevastiana shows impressive resilience against the most common threats:

• Full immunity to loose and covered smut;
• High defense threshold against brown and stem rust;
• Resistance to glume blotch (septoria) and powdery mildew.

This significantly simplifies field operations. We don't have to strain the budget for extra fungicide sprays, as the leaf and head remain healthy even under pressure. The variety shows excellent endurance against leaf spot diseases as well.

Yield and Field Performance

Lodging resistance is a standout feature here. Even during heavy winds or prolonged rains, the stem stays upright, ensuring a clean and efficient harvest. Regarding yields: we achieve 9-10 tons per hectare on fertile plots, while under less intensive management, it still produces a solid 4-5 tons. This flexibility allows us to adapt the variety to different soil conditions without sacrificing grain quality.
